What is Tsunami?
Tsunami is a powerful, remote-controlled firefighting monitor designed for high-volume water delivery, making it ideal for large-scale firefighting operations. Capable of flowing between 4,000 – 8,000 GPM (15,000 – 30,000 LPM), Tsunami provides unmatched water flow with precise, motorized control. It is built for durability and performance, engineered to minimize friction loss, and enhance stream reach, ensuring effective water delivery in demanding firefighting environments.
What problems does Tsunami solve?
Key Features
Flow Rate
Tsunami offers a wide flow range from 4,000 to 8,000 GPM (15,000 – 30,000 LPM), making it highly adaptable for a variety of firefighting needs. Whether it’s for sustained water delivery or rapid fire suppression, Tsunami’s flow rate ensures that firefighters have the power and volume required to control large-scale fires.
Minimal Friction Loss
Equipped with an integral stream straightener, Tsunami maintains an exceptionally low friction loss of 15 PSI (1 bar) at 8,000 GPM, ensuring maximum water pressure and distance. This feature enhances stream reach, ensuring that water is delivered efficiently and effectively even at higher flows.
Nozzle Options
Tsunami is compatible with the Master Stream 4000, providing flexibility for various firefighting scenarios. Fire departments can equip Tsunami with smooth bore stacked tips as well, ensuring optimal flow rates and stream performance for different fireground needs.
For even greater versatility, Tsunami can be paired with the Master Stream Vortex® nozzle, which enhances water stream quality and provides firefighters with more control over flow rate and pattern adjustments. This combination of stacked tips and the Vortex option allows Tsunami to adapt to both high-volume water delivery and precise stream control, ensuring superior performance in large-scale firefighting operations.
Extended Range of Motion
Tsunami provides 320 degrees of horizontal rotation and 90 degrees of vertical elevation above horizontal, with adjustable stops. This extensive range ensures that firefighters can direct water precisely where it’s needed, covering broad areas in dynamic firefighting conditions.
Remote-Control Operation
Tsunami’s remote-controlled system allows for easy and precise operation, giving firefighters the ability to control the monitor’s horizontal and vertical movement, nozzle pattern, and park functions from a distance. The motorized control system is designed for 12 VDC or 24 VDC auto-sensing operation, making it compatible with most firefighting apparatus.
You can choose a combination master stream nozzle or stacked tips with your Tsunami!
Field-Adjustable Horizontal Hard Stop Bolts
Tsunami comes equipped with field-adjustable horizontal hard stop bolts, allowing firefighters to easily limit the monitor’s range of horizontal travel. This feature enhances safety and precision by preventing over-rotation in confined spaces or areas with obstacles. The hard stops can be quickly adjusted on the field, ensuring safe operation in any firefighting environment.
Quick-Connect Discharge
Tsunami features a quick-connect discharge system for fast and secure nozzle attachment. This innovative system allows for quick changes in nozzle configurations during critical firefighting operations, minimizing setup time and maximizing operational efficiency. The secure, leak-free connection ensures reliable performance, allowing firefighters to adapt to evolving fireground conditions without delay.
Upgradability
Tsunami is designed with future upgrades in mind. The control panel, motor circuits, and position encoders allow for easy updates and modifications, ensuring that the monitor can be adapted to meet evolving firefighting needs. Software updates and diagnostic tools are available via the control panel to maintain optimal performance.
