What is the Mid-Matic?

The Mid-Matic automatic handline nozzle is built for firefighters demanding reliability and hard-hitting streams to tackle the toughest challenges. Designed for aggressive fire departments, it delivers exceptional performance with automatic flow ranges from 70-200 GPM (260-750 LPM) at pressures of 75 or 100 PSI (5 or 7 bar) or 100-600 LPM at 6 bar. Lightweight, durable, and highly maneuverable, the Mid-Matic nozzle thrives in demanding environments, making it a trusted tool for your team.

What Problems Does the Mid-Matic Solve?

  • Heat Management Challenges: For enhanced cooling and steam conversion, the Mid-Matic nozzle offers an optional spinning metal teeth configuration, creating a finely atomized fog stream for better heat absorption and visibility.
  • Every Fire is Different: The Mid-Matic gives you a wide range of flow rates so that you are prepared for any fire you face.
  • Pump Operator Communcation: The Mid-Matic can be set to its highest flow rate, allowing the nozzle firefighter to gate the nozzle as needed to adjust the flow while maintaining a strong stream because of the slide valve. This eliminates the need to radio the pump operator for flow adjustments, streamlining operations on the fireground.

Key Features of the Mid-Matic Nozzle

High Flow Performance

With automatic flow rates from 70-200 GPM (260-750 LPM) at pressures of 75 or 100 PSI (5 or 7 bar) or 100-600 LPM at 6 bar, the Mid-Matic nozzle is built for versatility, handling everything from low-flow tactics to high-volume firefighting demands with ease.

Automatic Flow

The Mid-Matic nozzle has a variable flow rate at a constant nozzle pressure. The spring-loaded baffle adjusts the opening to match the flow rate you’re trying to achieve with a hard-hitting, far-reaching stream. It’s an ideal choice for foam eductor operations, automatically adjusting to match the eductor’s flow rate for optimal finished foam delivery.

Spinning Metal Teeth

Durable stainless steel spinning teeth generate a finely atomized fog stream, maximizing heat absorption and steam conversion for superior fire suppression. This design enhances cooling efficiency, reduces heat buildup, and improves visibility, making it ideal for interior attacks and knockdown operations in intense firefighting environments.

Fixed Rubber Teeth

Rugged fixed metal teeth produce a consistent, fully filled fog pattern for reliable performance in demanding fireground conditions. This design is ideal for advancing hose lines, providing a protective fog shield that pushes back heat, flames, and smoke, enhancing firefighter safety during interior and exterior attacks.

Slide Valve

The slide valve delivers smooth and consistent flow control, even when partially closed, giving firefighters unmatched command over water delivery in the heat of the moment. The detented flow positions let operators regulate flow with precision, tailoring it to what’s needed for the job or what can be safely and effectively handled.

Break-Apart Option

The break-apart functionality enables seamless transitions between configurations, ensuring adaptability in any scenario.

Control Your Pattern

The Mid-Matic nozzle allows for quick transition between wide fog for exposure protection, narrow fog to cut through intense heat, and straight stream for when you need hard-hitting reach. Stream variation is a key feature for hydraulic ventilation, directing smoke and heat out of openings, such as windows.
