Health and Safety Excellence with Crown Point, IN Fire Rescue

After attending a Train-the-Trainer course in Indianapolis, Assistant Chief Ryan Cusack of Crown Point Fire Rescue knew he needed to address the carcinogens and other health threats his crew faced each day. 

He and his crew developed new health and safety protocols designed to keep them fit to fight fires – and ultimately keep them healthier for their families and community. 

By adding a second set of gear, implementing cleaning protocols, and requiring annual NFPA physicals, they've created an empowered crew that puts health and safety first.
