Are you looking for the prices and ongoing costs associated with StationProtect and competing systems that use needlepoint bipolar ionization (NPBI™)? You’ve come to the right place.
In this article we’re going to discuss exactly what costs you can expect from these air decontamination and filtration systems.
Looking for the cost of a CrewProtect system? Find more information here.
How Much does a StationProtect Cost?
Each StationProtect unit costs around $6,000.00 and includes your first year’s decontamination kit. A single unit will clean the air in your station up to 2400 square feet. If you have a warm zone that needs a separate unit or wish to use it in areas larger than 2400 square feet, you may need to buy an added unit for the best results.
There are no installation costs for the StationProtect. The unit plugs into any wall outlet and comes on caster wheels, making it easy to move if needed. This makes it easy for you to move the unit for cleaning, accessing the rear door for cartridge changes, or moving it to a new space if your original placement is not ideal.

What are the Ongoing Costs for StationProtect?
The StationProtect air decontamination system is designed to need minimal maintenance and be easy to use. Each Decontamination Kit is $699.00 and includes everything you need for a full year of operation. With StationProtect you do not need to worry about getting the right pieces – everything for the year is included in the Decontamination Kit. This includes the molecular media and Puraward Fiber cartridges that last for one year, a highly effective Hepa filter, and a set of four prefilters that last three months each.
Does StationProtect Come with a Warranty?
Every StationProtect system comes with a limited two-year warranty valid from the date of purchase. This warranty covers material and workmanship defects. If a material or workmanship defect is discovered, TFT will replace or repair the equipment or its parts. A full copy of the warranty can be found in the

What Does the Competing System Cost?
Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization (NPBI™) for Fire Stations
StationProtect’s most common competing system uses needlepoint bipolar ionization to create positive and negative ions in your space. These ions travel throughout the station and attach themselves to particles, pathogens, and gas molecules to make them more easily filterable by your HVAC system. This system costs about $2,500.00 per system.
Systems using this technology do not use a filter or other consumable media during use. This means there are no ongoing costs. It also means the system itself cannot capture particulates or particles that combine as a result of ionization. These elements will remain airborne until they fall from the breathing zone or get captured in another filter. There is also the possibility that combining particles in the air can create other compounds that would be airborne until they are filtered out by a separate system, or they fall from the breathing zone. Notably, the company who patented NPBI technology faced a
class action lawsuit
claiming that the technology made the air worse.
