What is DECON/pak?

DECON/pak is a portable gross decontamination system designed specifically for firefighters, enabling quick and effective decontamination of personnel and equipment on the fireground. This self-contained system offers precise agent proportioning and rinse capabilities, making it an essential tool for reducing cancer-causing contaminants and protecting firefighter health. Compact, easy to use, and specifically developed for gross decon, DECON/pak helps mitigate the risks posed by hazardous materials and toxins.

How does DECON/pak work?

  • Add your cleaning agent: Fill the tank with your approved PPE decontamination agent.
  • Connect to a hoseline: Attach to a standard 1” or 1.5” pressurized hoseline to supply water.
  • Wash, scrub, and rinse: Apply the decontamination solution and rinse as needed.

The 2.5-gallon tank allows for proportioning of cleaning agents from 0.1% to 0.5%, enabling effective decontamination with the appropriate cleaning solution for PPE and equipment. The system can also switch to a rinse-only mode when needed, making it versatile for all situations.
