Which Stacked Tips Should You Use with a Hurricane Deck Gun?

"I'm looking to put a set of stacked tips on a TFT Hurricane deck gun. We're looking for options for that deck gun that have a stream straightener. We'll be looking for the overall length and cost."
In this episode of AskTFT, Brian Pods talks through the most common set of stacked tips we see on the
Hurricane deck gun
and which stream straightener options work well.
Stacked Tips
The most common set of stacked tips we see on the Hurricane fixed monitor is a set of four tips that include the following:
1 3/8" (35 mm)
1 1/2" (38 mm)
1 3/4" (44.5 mm)
2" (52 mm)
These tips
are designed for monitor use and will deliver 500, 600, 800, and 1,000 GPM respectively at about 80 PSI in tip pressure. They are hard coat anodized for durability. Each one has the pressure and flow chart engraved on the tip for your convenience.
The overall length of this set when all four tips are in use is about 17" (432 mm) without a stream straightener.
Stream Straightener
When used on the Hurricane, customers often choose a 5" stream straightener for this set of stacked tips. This is because the Hurricane monitor outlet already has an integrated stream straightener built inside the waterway.
The 10" stream straightener is still a viable optional that many fire departments choose.
